My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Clevedale over the extended Thanksgiving weekend. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The room in which we stayed was beautifully furnished. The home and grounds are gorgeous. The breakfasts were delicious and imaginative (one day was jam-stuffed pancakes; another was a Thanksgiving-inspired frittata; pictured are the shrimp and grits). My mother and I went on a family memories trip to Union South Carolina and stayed at this LOVELY AMAZING bed and breakfast.  Paul and Pontheolla were perfect hosts and took such good care of us. The Inn is a pure gem! We were warmly welcomed in the parking lot by Paul, one of the owners, with a smile and a handshake. He made us feel comfortable immediately. We then entered the historic home and met Pontheolla, the other owner, who greeted us with a winning smile. The Inn is a historic property that has been lovingly renovated in a way that has kept all the charm of such a property, while providing guests with comfort. The attention to detail wins the day here; the quality of the bedding, the furnishings of the room, bathroom, dining room, china, etc. A lot of thought has obviously been given to the comfort of their guests. To us, it felt as though we were in our dear old friends' home for a long awaited visit. You won't want to  miss the gourmet breakfast created by Pontheolla (the main ingredient being TLC). We highly recommend this rare hospitality experience. In a world that seems to be losing the personal, caring touch to travelers, here you will find thoughtful and beautiful accomodations. The Clevedale Historic Inn and Gardens is a treat to oneself.  The gardens are immaculate and aesthetically fulfilling - a quiet oasis.  Our room at the Inn was beautifully decorated with vintage furnishings, a very modern rainfall shower and a large balcony porch.  Breakfast was top-notch with just the right amount of seasoning, creativity and gorgeous presentation.  The Inn Keepers are the most personable people ever.
